Whether you are in the early days of your business venture, or you’ve been working hard in making your business dreams into reality, it’s important to turn your mind to whether the business structure best meets your needs and goals. A lawyer’s role is ensuring that your business has the right foundational elements so you can plan the success of your business. That means making the decision of whether to incorporate (or not), the share structure your company, and who’s going to be to a shareholder of the company.
The best advice depends on understanding the quirks and goals of each individual and their business. I’ll get to know you and your business and provide affordable and practical services that are easy to understand. Whether you need a shareholders agreement or employment agreement drafted, or a lease reviewed and explained, I’ve got your needs covered. It’s my goal to make the process practical and suitable for the needs of a small business. No more googling for legal advice! Learn more about my small business services here.
Being prepared means being able to manage your assets, plan for your loved ones, and have a say in your life’s decisions. It’s a personal process that may seem overwhelming but I will guide you through it step-by-step and make sure to meet your unique needs. There’s a sense of relief when you create a will outlining how you want to distribute your estate and who you’d like to be the guardian of your children, or documenting your decisions on who you trust to make important decisions for you when life throws you a curveball. Find out more about wills and personal planning here.
Legal services should be affordable to all small business owners and individuals. I have pre-set fees for some common projects and will be happy to talk over a customized fee structure based on your needs so you can budget for it. Don’t be deterred from hiring a lawyer because of the dreaded fees. Let’s chat and we’ll find a solution.
I am an up and coming lawyer in Vancouver, BC working with small business owners and entrepreneurs in their small business legal needs, as well as working with individuals in their wills & incapacity planning. Independent entrepreneurs have been influential in my life and I love working with hard working individuals who provide unique and valuable services to our community. I take inspiration from people who pour passion into what they do for a living. My office is in the heart of lovely Gastown where small businesses are popping up like wildflowers.
A little about me: I graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s Degree in honours psychology before attending law school at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. After completing my articling at Davis LLP in downtown Vancouver, I made the conscious decision to work with clients that I want to support. I live on Bowen Island with my husband, Rob of Measure Accounting Co., and love exploring our special corner of the world in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
